Tippetts Baptism in Lovell
Yesterday our oldest son was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I couldn't be more proud of him and his decision to make an keep sacred covenants with his Father in Heaven. I can still remember the day he was blessed, he sure is growing into a wonderful young man! Four more years and he will be receiving the priesthood. WHOA |

Jacob's Surgery
Jacob got hurt in football a couple of weeks ago. Since it wasn't due to a collision the Dr. thought it would heal on its own. Nope. So we had an MRI done and things looked bleak for us. How do you tear the ACL and have damage to the meniscus when he just pushed off his leg a little funny??? I am grateful for our little miracle though. Spike did some research and found a doctor that he thought would do a good job. We learned from past painful experience that having the right doctor is crucial. Anyway, he called Dr. Shenton's office on Tuesday and they had a cancellation so we were able to get Jacob in on Wednesday. We talked to him on Wednesday and he had another cancellation for surgery and with this type of injury he didn't want to wait so the surgery was done on Thursday.
I really felt like we were being watched over. Jacob did not tear the ACL. The ACL actually pulled a bit of bone away from where it attaches. When they went in for the surgery, they anchored the ACL down with stitches through some holes they drilled through the bone. They also repaired the meniscus.
So Jacob right now is reclining on the couch playing video games with his friend Mat. He is not in much pain, we are just giving him ibuprofen every now and again.
He sure was a nervous nelly when we got to the surgical center. He started shaking so they tried to warm him up and handed him the tv remote. After surgery he just couldn't stay awake so we had a late night getting home.

Alan White makes apple juice.
Alan decide that he wanted to make an apple press. He found out that to press apples you must first crush or grind them. So he got a meat grinder. He still needs to tweak the apple press a little but his press did work. The Apple juice is mm mm good! He is amazing!

Skyler Green is 4 Today
The other day Skyler told me that he wouldn't be wearing anything that had a 3 on the tag any more, because he's 4 now. So we put away the 3T clothes and got out the 4T clothes. He is loving his "new" wardrobe and likes choosing his own outfits. This is today's pick. Still a little big if you ask me, but he's happy. |

Olivia's Miracle
Facebook posts written by Elizabeth Davis

Olivia on her first day of school, posted Sept. 4, 2014
Sept. 9,
Switching to Facebook for all the updates on Olivia. Sorry, I just can't keep up with calling everyone. For those of you who don't know the full story..
Sunday evening Olivia was laying in bed looking at a small metal object she had found on her floor. Just as the object slipped from her fingers she yawned and inhaled it into her right lung. We have been trying to find a specialty Pediatric Pulmonologist who can get it out of her lung. She was supposed to have surgery in Lewiston this morning but the metal object is deeper in her lungs than they thought. Now we are looking at a surgeon in Spokane WA who will see her today at 1:00 and decide if he can do the surgery, if so he will probably do it tomorrow morning. If not we are looking at probably going to Seattle for a surgeon.
James is still in Wyoming for another week, I thought this would be pretty cut and dry and told him to stay because the surgery would be done before he could even get out here. The members of the church out here are awesome and have jumped in to take care of the other kids, cows, etc. I'll try to keep updates posted here. Please keep Olivia in your prayers

Update on Olivia:
Surgery tomorrow morning at 8:30 in Spokane' The Pediatric surgeon isn't very hopeful that he will be able to get it by going down her throat. It is starting to look like they will have to go into her lung through her chest wall. Praying, praying that he is wrong and that won't be necessary. Worst case scenario, he mentioned maybe having to take part of her lung, but we aren't even going to go there!!!!! Too many positive prayers on her behalf for that to happen. Thanks for all the love sent her way!.

update on Olivia:
She's home now and doing well. The surgeon was able to get the object out without cutting into her lung. He told us that he had tried for almost an hour to get it out without success. He finally turned to the other surgeon and told him, there's nothing else I can do, we are going to have to cut open her chest wall and go in. Just as he finished saying it, the metal object shifted... and slipped right into his retrieval tool. He said that the other surgeon who is a deeply religious man said, "Did I really just see what I think I saw?"
I told the surgeon, you have no idea how many people were praying for this little girl.
So thank you all for your prayers on her behalf. They really did help her!
